Iray Programmer's Manual

Iray Blend

To the user, Iray Blend is presented as an individual render mode, but under the hood, it uses two configurable render modes to do the actual rendering. Iray Blend starts to render progressively with the first render mode, then blends into the rendering results of the second render mode, and finally renders only with the second render mode. This behavior can be controlled in detail by the application with rendering options on the Iray Blend render mode.

A possible use case for Iray Blend is, for example, to use Iray Interactive during navigation for high interactivity and then use Iray Photoreal during refinement to get the best possible quality.

The following sections provide an introduction to Iray Blend, document its system requirements and limitations, and provide further details on capabilities and options.
